Undated, first edition of 1887. Hardback bound in original brown cloth with bevelled edges. Decorative gilt blocked pictorial title to cover and gilt titles to cover and spine. All edges gilt. Neat ink inscription to ffep dated 1908, offset to half title. Full colour illustrated portrait frontispiece, additional eleven full page colour illustrated plates throughout. Light rubbing to binding, wear to spine edges. Spine a little sunned and corners bumped. Small black spot to front board. Prelims toned with faint foxing. Cracking to gutter. First two plates are detached but present. Binding starting but holding. Overall good condition. 62 + iv pp. Pretty copy of a scarce book.
