Edition: First Edition

Published By: Published for John Taylor... By James Duncan... John Hatchard and Son

A Popular System of Classical Instruction, combining the methods of Locke, Ascham, Milton, &c. Part III. 2s. 6d. First edition hardback with original boards, printed decorative border and title to cover. Ink inscription across front board, obscuring the beginning of the title somewhat. Boards are heavily rubbed with marks and traces of water stains. Not too much loss to the extremities though. Spine missing. Endpapers missing. Page 13 detached but present, otherwise appears complete. Stitching is very loose the first half of the book. Overall poor condition, but something that can be remedied. Latin and English text, a direct translation. This rare book is part of the 'Classical Instruction' series which is aimed at a juvenile audience. 38 pp plus publishers advertisements. No other copies on the market at present, and only two copies recorded in institutions. A collectable book that could do with some attention.
