This is a beautifully decorated and detailed hardback book concerning any 'lover of foreign missions'. The exterior has experienced some sunning and the page edges are slightly discoloured, but the pages themselves are clean and bright with some foxing here and there. One of the first pages is slightly damaged but remains in the book and there is handwriting in pencil of a previous owner's name in the front as well as a couple of annotations towards the front of the book. This is a book about the author's love for Ceylon and its people. The author passed away just before publishing so, along with his father's old friend Rev. John Milton Brown, Strutt's son helped finish off the novel. 251 pp.
