Abridged from the larger dictionary by Sir William Smith. Hard Back. the New Edition thoroughly revised and in part rewritten by G.E. Marindin. Twenty Ninth Impression. Beautiful presentation copy bound in rich navy leather with gilt ruled border and gilt coat of arms to the front. Red title band, ornate gilt decoration and five raised bands to the spine. The leather does show a little wear with light loss along the outer hinges and surface wear to the rear. All edges of the text block and endpapers marbled. Presentation label to the rear paste down dated 1910. Internally the binding is tight and the pages are generally very clean with just a little foxing to the prelims. Text is double columned. pp. 638. Overall a good copy.
