Striking dust jacket in fair condition due to a number of rips to the spine and rear. Spine also has creases and has darkened with age. Original grey pattern to front is faded. Textblock dark at the top and minor foxing to the fore edge and bottom. Stunning pictorial endpapers show tanning. Foxing to title pages. Full-colour frontispiece is almost loose. Pages remain clean, mostly free of foxing, and bright with illustrations throughout by Hugh Thomson. pp.197. Overall good (worth noting that beneath the dust jacket the purple clothbound boards with gilt details and grey patterning are in excellent condition).
