First Edition hardback. Handsomely bound in rich burgundy cloth with bright gilt coat of arms to the front and bright gilt titles to the spine. There is a little bumping to the corner's and to the base of the spine, however the cloth is in a lovely clean condition and shows minimal wear. Complete with the dust jacket, although lightly discoloured in places, is generally in good condition. There is minor pencil notation to the top of the front free endpaper otherwise the pages appear unread. Illustrated with maps and the occasional black and white photographic plate. pp. xix + 307. Overall a very good copy.
